About this swimming hole
The Linville River thunders over a 90-foot drop into a plunge basin inside Linville Gorge, with trails leading to overlooks and the basin itself. Strong swimmers do enter the plunge pool, but the current and slick rock make this a swim-at-your-own-risk spot. The sheer scale of the falls and gorge makes it worth the trip regardless.
