The McKenzie River's most photographed pool, where water filtered through miles of lava rock resurfaces in a deep, impossibly blue basin at the base of the former Tamolitch Falls. Swimming is strongly discouraged here: the 37-degree water and sheer rock walls have injured and killed visitors, and rescue takes hours.
