Vernooy Kill Falls
Waterfall · New York
About this swimming hole
Vernooy Kill drops about 60 feet in four stages into a series of pools, reached by a roughly 3.6-mile round-trip hike in the Sundown Wild Forest. DEC's own Sundown/Vernooy Kill Unit Management Plan explicitly describes 'the swimming hole and plunge pool' along the kill near the old Dunlop Farm field. Old mill ruins and hemlock forest complete the scene.
