Scarborough's North and South beaches form one of Rhode Island's flagship ocean beaches on Block Island Sound. The half-mile of sand has lifeguards, concessions, and restrooms, with hiking and picnicking around the pavilions. Roger Wheeler and Scarborough North open a weekend before the rest of the state beaches each May.
